Position Details
The Student Enrolment and Registrar Services (SEARS) Office requires the services of 1 part-time (approx 10 hours per week) temporary Student for a Day Ambassador (Work to Learn) to commence work: September 3, 2024 to April 30, 2025.

How did you discover your program was the right fit for you? Maybe you had a friend or mentor who could explain what to expect at University or maybe you did other career exploration. The Student for a Day program is one-way future students can experience a day-in-the-life of a student in their program of interest. As a Student for a Day Ambassador you will make that connection possible. You will be tasked with managing the Student for a Day volunteer database and scheduling future student experiences.

Duties will include:
-Obtaining volunteer hosts and maintaining relationships with volunteer pool
-Receiving student for a day request from future students and matching with a student volunteer
-Communication with visitors and volunteers regarding the experience
-Attend the introduction between the hosts and the visiting student on the day of the experience
-Executive inventory counts
-Managing an electronic mailbox and communication regarding the program
-Update the host training resources
-Send post-experience surveys and document successes
-Assemble visitor packages

No previous experience is necessary however a willingness to learn, basic computer proficiency and social aptitude are needed.

Hourly Rate: $21.44/Hour

Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen
  • Must be a domestic, undergraduate student;
  • Must be in Academic Good Standing;
  • Must have Full-Time status (at least 3 courses – 9 credits)’
  • Must demonstrate financial need by completing “financial need” section on the Scholarship & Student Awards application
