Position Details
The University of Lethbridge Information Technology Services Department is seeking applications for the position of Application Support Analyst. This is a full-time, term position located at our Lethbridge campus to start work as soon as possible. Preference will be given to candidates who will work full-time on the Lethbridge campus; however, some hybrid work arrangements for Alberta-based candidates may be arranged.

Reporting to the Director, Applications, the Application Support Analyst is a capable and versatile professional with a broad set of technical capabilities required to support various applications across the University. This position plays a key role by collaborating with other department leads, external vendors, and the rest of the IT Services team in order to ensure these applications are properly supported, maintained, and enhanced. Numerous critical University processes rely on these applications, and therefore a high degree of planning, coordination and attention to detail is required to ensure business continuity.

This position is responsible for the application software, server configuration, web application management, security configuration, and vendor management This role will frequently work with others responsible for databases, servers, networks, and integrations, making effective communication skills essential.

The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification review for Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) positions. As such, the classification level currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of related work experience.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and upgrading business applications.
  • Proven knowledge in core technical competencies such as databases, servers, networking, data integrations, data reports & extracts, etc.
  • Experience with using operating systems such as Windows Server.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting a wide variety of application issues.
  • Experience in reading vendor documentation, and writing internal process & system documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience with service management processes such as incident management, service request management, change management, etc.

The incumbent must possess strong organizational and communication skills, and must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with faculty and staff is also required.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,772.00 - $5,403.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,772.00 - $6,034.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 11)
