Position Summary: This is a full-time, continuing position located at our Lethbridge campus. Preference will be given to candidates who will work some portion of this role at the Lethbridge campus, but we will also consider hybrid work arrangements for Alberta-based candidates where visits to the Lethbridge campus would be less regular. The University External Relations Office is currently accepting applications for the role of Senior Business Analyst. The Senior Business Analyst role is a multipurpose role within the External Relations Office involved with business analysis (assessing, identifying, designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring) of the units business systems and processes, including project management of technology and business process, change projects for the three programs of External Relations (Alumni Relations, Philanthropy, and Community Engagement), as well as all External Relations functions across campus, including communications and marketing, government relations, and other connected business units. The role requires expertise and efficiency in technical writing, and facilitating discussions with cross-functional teams, working with, and supporting complex, high-profile projects that impact interconnected business functions. The Senior Business Analyst provides a vital function within External Relations, demonstrating leadership and initiative and having ownership, responsibility, and accountability for the management of multiple competing priorities and high-profile projects in an often ambiguous and responsive environment. In the first year, the Analyst role will be heavily focused on coordinating tasks, activities, documentation, and related deliverables for the CRM transformation project, to ensure on-time and quality delivery of the CRM solution for the entire alumni and donor lifecycle, including alumni engagement, events management, fundraising and gift processing, prospect management, communications, reporting, data management, training, and system support. The Analyst will be a key member of the CRM transformation project management team, and will work closely with the chosen external vendor, External Relations units, Financial Services, and IT to deliver the CRM system on time, with high quality and integrity, and meets defined user requirements. Longer term and more generally, the Senior Business Analyst role addresses the needs for work directly related to the implementation, identity and access, data preparation, and reporting and analytics for the broader eco-system of information, data and business process for the Office of External Relations. The Senior Business Analyst develops and executes processes, procedures, and plans to ensure successful operationalization of business solutions, which includes preparing documentation, leading training sessions, and providing subject matter support to the External Relations team and connected units across campus with respect to all External Relations information systems and data practices. The Senior Business Analyst will supervise the Database Information Specialist, and will report directly to the Director of Philanthropy, while maintaining close working relationships with heads of other impacted business units. The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Professional Officer (APO) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project. |
Position Qualifications | Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate has experience or familiarity with the Advancement/External Relations work environment, is knowledgeable and experienced with CRMs and the important role they play in achieving External Relations strategies. The incumbent should be an effective leader, providing a clear and concise vision, strategy, and approach to project teams, and setting a professional and effective example for team members and colleagues to emulate. Successful candidates will be exceptionally strong communicators, exhibit sound judgment in dealing with confidential information, have a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting self, the department, and the organization and be a customer-focused, team-oriented self-starter.
