Position Details
The University of Lethbridge is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our Financial Services team. 

Reporting to the Faculty Financial Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for providing support for the budgetary activities and financial operations of the Dhillon School of Business, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Responsibilities within those Academic Units will include:
  • Preparation of operating, carryover, equipment, special purpose, and endowment budgets for approval; and allocation of resources within those approved budgets
  • Providing input on implementation of new budget models, plans for budgetary reductions, and special projects
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of budgets and financial operations, and processing and approval of financial transactions
  • Providing information and advice to faculty and staff on policies, financial processes, etc. and working with the Faculty Finance team to develop operational guidelines and procedures
  • Compiling and reporting on financial data for internal and external use

This position’s compensation level is currently under review. 
Position Qualifications
Qualified applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree, a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, and a minimum of five years’ experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with MS Office, including a strong working knowledge of Word and Excel. Experience working in a post-secondary institution and experience with financial planning and budget implementation will be assets.

The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in presentation of financial information, and excellent technical, analytical, and reporting skills. The ideal candidate will be highly detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgement.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $61,413.10 - $77,258.06 annually
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $61,413.10 - $93,103.02 annually (APO - Grade 3)
