Position Details
THE UNIVERSITY OF LETHBRIDGE is seeking applications for a two-year term appointment at the rank of Instructor III on our Lethbridge Campus. Candidates must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in business, communications or a related degree. The applicant must also have a demonstrated ability to provide innovative and effective teaching in a University environment. Online and hyflex teaching may be required, and courses may also be taught evenings or Saturdays, in addition to face-to-face daytime offerings. The applicant should have some industry experience, and be willing and able to continue with limited ongoing practice involvement or similar activities to maintain their professional competence.

Instructor responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: instruction and assessment; course content updating; pedagogical and assessment improvements; course and curriculum development; active involvement in School and Area governance; and other service activities such as committee service, participation in student related activities, and participation in industry events.
The successful candidate’s teaching assignment will focus on courses in Business Communications, with some teaching in other areas. Preference will be given to candidates who have formal education and related experience to teach one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Business; Organizational Behavior; Introduction to Human Resource Management, and Business Research Methods. The instructor will work with other instructors of business communications, as well as those in organizational behavior and human resources.

The Dhillon School of Business is AACSB accredited and values both teaching and research excellence. We maintain close ties with the community through our experiential programs. Students can concentrate their undergraduate studies in a wide range of majors and combined degrees. There are approximately 50 full-time faculty and 1400 undergraduate majors located on our Lethbridge and Calgary campuses, as well as graduate programming in the areas of health services management, management research, and business analytics. Dhillon supports cross-disciplinary research and encourages faculty to work with students in thesis and course-based graduate programs.
