Position Details
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) team, which reports to the President’s Office, is seeking applications for an EDI Special Project Assistant. This is a two-year term position with a desired start date of October 15, 2023.

Reporting to the Vice Provost EDI, this position will play a critical role in providing administrative support for all EDI events, special projects, and support to the EDI Project Manager. Key EDI special project initiatives include the roll out an implementation of the EDI student survey, EDI data analysis and dashboard, EDI reporting, the EDI advisory council, the EDI strategic plan development and consultation process, best practice research, and EDI training facilitation. Additionally, the incumbent will be a critical member of the EDI team, whose vision is to works towards identifying, and addressing systemic barriers that impact historically excluded groups on our campus, but more importantly to create a campus that is safe and inclusive of all.

The team consists of EDI Project Manager, EDI communication specialist, and the HR/Gender Special Project assistance. The HR/Gender Special Project Assistant is a joint role with Human Resources.

Position Qualifications
A University degree is required. 1-2 years’ experience working in a university setting is required.

Additionally, the incumbent must have experience conducting best practice research, data analysis and reporting. A combination of related experience and knowledge will be considered. This role will work very closely with the EDI project manager to support the development of the EDI network across the campus.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
· Strong knowledge in data analysis and visualization. The ability to communication complicated data to diverse audiences
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Experience providing administrative program and project support
· Strong presentation and facilitation skills
· Strong knowledge and skills in event planning and coordination
· Strong project management skills
· Strong knowledge and skills in conducting best practice research in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Antiracism
· Experience working in a diverse and cross-cultural team
· Strong knowledge of building effective working relations across multiple stakeholders
· A working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) SharePoint and Infogram
· Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI data visualization software is an asset
· Experience with Banner student information system is an asset
· Demonstrated an ongoing commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Antiracism in approach to work
· Strong organizational and decision-making skills
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,519.30 - $5,051.59 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,519.30 - $5,583.87 monthly (ESS - Grade 9)
