Position Details | Applicants are invited for a postdoctoral position focusing on black hole astrophysics withProf. Alexandra Tetarenko in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Universityof Lethbridge. This position is planned for two years, with an extension for a third year contingent on the availability of funding. The successful candidate will work on topics related to accretion driven jets launched from black holes, including:
Additionally, there is the opportunity to get involved in the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration, for which Prof. Tetarenko is a leading member. The successful candidate will be expected to spent 80% of the time on predefined projects, and will be given 20% of the time for independent research. The start date for the position is set atSpring/Summer 2024, but this is negotiable. This is a grant funded position and will include a generous stipend, travel funds, and computing equipment.
