Position Details
The University of Lethbridge High Performance Centre is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Trainer commencing September 2023. Reporting to the Coordinator-High Performance, this position is responsible to provide safe and ethical training to both varsity and youth athletic groups.  

The duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • The Assistant Trainer will assist with the design, development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes. 
  • Maintain a current knowledge of leading edge training methods and protocols, and proactively seek ways to implement new techniques into existing programs when appropriate.
  • Embody a philosophy of excellence, health and wellness at all times, and maintain a strong professional presence within Horns Recreation & Athletics.
 
Hiring Salary Range: Based on education/experience  
Position Qualifications
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification. 
  • Previous group training experience or former athletic experience.
  • Working towards a Bachelors degree in a related field (Kinesiology or Exercise Science) and a passion for athletics in general.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Professional certification CSEP-CPT, CSEP-CEP, NSCA CSCS, or equivalent.  

This position requires a satisfactory vulnerable sector check prior to being hired.
