Position Details
The University of Lethbridge Information Technology Services Department is seeking applications for the position of Business Intelligence Administrator. This is a full-time continuing position located at our Lethbridge campus. Preference will be given to candidates who will work some portion of this role at the Lethbridge campus, but we will also consider hybrid work arrangements for Alberta-based candidates where visits to the Lethbridge campus would be less regular.

Reporting to the Director, Applications, the Business Intelligence Administrator is a capable and versatile professional with a broad background in creating, maintaining and enhancing reporting and business intelligence solutions.

This position is the primary resource tasked with designing, implementing, enhancing and maintaining our business intelligence solutions. These solutions will be used to produce key information for personnel of all levels of the organization to support strategic decision making across the campus. This role will work with a variety of stakeholders to capture goals and requirements, and collaborate with other members of IT Services and vendor partners to design a set of solutions that meet the objectives of the University. Beyond implementation, this position will keep up with the constantly changing technologies, and plan, lead, and execute the work involved to ensure the business intelligence tools remain up to date both technically and functionally.

Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  •  5+ years of related work experience
  •  Proficiency in working with large data sets and/or complex relational databases
  •  Experience with enterprise class reporting & data management tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure data storage/management tools, etc.
  •  Experience in designing and implementing solutions that are practical, sustainable, and cost effective
  •  Experience with a variety of technologies, such as operating systems, scripting languages, networking, etc.

The incumbent must possess strong organizational, communication, and project management skills and must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision. Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with faculty and staff is also required.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $60,505.52 - $76,116.32 annually
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $60,505.52 - $91,727.11 annually (APO - Grade 3)
