The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Art invites applications for a 9- month term appointment at the rank of Instructor III, starting August 1, 2023, subject to budgetary and Board approval. The candidate will instruct four undergraduate courses (two courses per semester) in Photo Studio, including both analogue (dark room) and digital technical components.

The applicant should have an MFA in Art Studio and an active record of exhibition and research; evidence of strong and successful teaching experience; ability to teach in area of expertise.

The Department of Art offers BFA and BA degrees with majors in Art Studio, Art History/Museum Studies, Indigenous Art Studio, Indigenous Art History/ Museum Studies, an MFA in Studio Art, and various combined degrees. The Faculty of Fine Arts, housed in the Centre for the Arts with state-of-the- art equipment and facilities, offers degrees in Art, Drama, Music, and New Media. Lethbridge is home to a dynamic art community with nationally recognized artists and galleries. The university has a significant art collection that fosters direct student access to historical and contemporary artwork, while a lively and extensive Visiting Speakers in the Arts Series enhances communication with the broader community.   • a letter of interest describing their research interests and teaching expertise
  • a current curriculum vitae
  • statement of teaching philosophy
  • a sample syllabus
  • 10 images of work (jpg < 1mb), image list, and support material

Applicants will also be asked to input the names and email contact information of two qualified referees who can assess teaching and research/creative activity. The referees will then be emailed a link where they will be asked to upload a confidential letter of reference to your application.
