Position Details | The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education invites applications for a tenure track position in Exercise Physiology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin January 1, 2024, subject to budgetary approval. The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology or related field and certification as a Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Clinical Exercise Physiologist™ is preferred. Accreditation as a CSEP Instructor-Examiner would be an asset. Development of an active, externally funded research program and contribution to the supervision/co-supervision of graduate students is expected. The successful candidate will support our undergraduate program and will teach courses in human physiology, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription. The ability to teach courses in nutrition, physical activity and aging, and research methods is desirable. We are seeking a candidate with the capability to engage and inspire students in their academic work, and who will show initiative in contributing to the department’s programs and curriculum development. Our Team: The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education has an enthusiastic and collegial group of faculty members that includes, for example, expertise in oral histories, appetite-regulation and metabolism, aging, motivation in sport, sensorimotor integration, elite performance of masters athletes, and ergonomics. The department has an established graduate program and a thriving undergraduate student culture, encouraged through faculty involvement. A flourishing research culture is supported by Tri-Agency and external funding.
