Position Details
The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Music, invites applications for a one-year term appointment as University of Lethbridge Wind Orchestra Director at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2023.  This position is subject to the approval of the Board of Governors.

About the position 
The primary role of the position will be to direct the University of Lethbridge Wind Orchestra and engage in recruitment activities with the orchestra.  The secondary role will be to teach courses in conducting and in the instrumental studio area.  A woodwind specialty would be an asset, however other areas will be strongly considered.  Also, teaching duties in areas such as Aural Skills, Theory or History, will be assigned depending upon the candidate’s secondary proficiencies.  
 
A completed doctorate is preferred.  Applicants who are ABD and/or nearing completion of their degree or those with commensurate professional experience will also be considered.  
 
The University aspires to hire individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research/performance/creative activities.  Recruitment contributions to the Department of Music, the Faculty of Fine Arts, and University community are expected.
