Position Details
The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Music invites applications for a term Instructor appointment specializing in Electronic and Popular Music Production and Digital Audio Arts. The appointment is for 10 months from August 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025.

Primary teaching duties are within the Digital Audio Arts (DAA) Major in the Department of Music. Expected teaching will include six courses including: Modern Studio Recording Techniques (MUSI 2550), Technical Ear Training (MUSI 2560), Electronic and Popular Music Production (MUSI 3850), Introduction to Music Technology (MUSI 2500), and Immersive Audio (MUSI 4637). All courses will be face-to-face delivery and course assignments may be modified as the department’s needs evolve through the year.

The successful candidate will contribute to providing an excellent student experience through engagement in service activities, which may include committee service to support the DAA program and participation in the DAA program’s student recruitment and retention initiatives.

Qualifications
We are seeking an industry professional and scholar working at the national or international level. Substantive professional experience in Audio Engineering and Music Production is required. A Master’s degree in Music Production or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is required; a Doctorate in Music Production or a related field is considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be an energetic teacher and mentor, with the ability to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and career aspirations. They will incorporate their industry expertise in their teaching and will support students in experiential learning and professional development.
