Position Details
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for an Instructor II position. The appointment could commence as early as July 1, 2024, subject to budgetary approval. We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory courses in Statistics. Teaching duties will include both lectures and labs. The ability to teach upper year courses in Statistics would be an asset, as would the ability to teach first year courses in Mathematics. As many of our introductory Statistics courses include labs with an R component, familiarity with a standard statistical software system, especially in a teaching context, would be an asset. Though most teaching would be in person, experience with online delivery would be viewed favourably. The University of Lethbridge is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and we are seeking a candidate who shares this commitment. Candidates with an interest in outreach are encouraged to mention this in their letter of application.
The successful candidate will have at least an M.Sc. in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Hiring salary will be in the range $60,000-$76,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

With campuses in Lethbridge and Calgary, uLethbridge offers more than 150 undergraduate and 60 graduate programs in the Faculties of Arts & Science, Education, Fine Arts, Health Sciences, the Schools of Liberal Education and Graduate Studies, and the Dhillon School of Business. Together, these programs serve more than 8,500 students.

Our Values:
The university recognizes that diversity enriches our campus and our community and is fundamental to excellence in teaching, learning, and research. The university as a whole embraces equity as a core value to be truly inclusive of the communities of which we are a part, and this requires ongoing intentional and systemic action. Through recruitment and support of individuals who further enhance our diversity, the University strives to create a diverse and inclusive community where students, faculty and staff feel welcome, are treated equitably, and can thrive.
